Key Responsibilities

SUMMARY
Designs, analyzes, and improves systems, processes, and organizations to increase efficiency and productivity while reducing waste and costs. Their work involves optimizing the integration of people, machines, materials, information, and energy to produce products or services, using tools like data analysis, simulation modelling, and process mapping to identify and solve problems in areas such as manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Be able to plan and coordinate a project from start to completion, which includes working with vendors, purchasing, management, and manufacturing, while keeping within budget and meeting critical project dates.

  • Analyze production schedules, workflow, and process bottlenecks to streamline operations and eliminate inefficiencies.

  • Utilize data analysis, mathematical modelling, and statistical tools to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop data driven solutions.

  • Implement strategies and systems that reduce operational costs without compromising product or service quality.

  • Develop and monitor quality control systems to ensure that final products and services meet established standards.

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and management, to implement process changes and drive operational excellence.

  • Design and optimized integrated systems that combine various elements, including human resources, equipment, and information, to achieve business goals.

 


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Be able to interpret data, identify trends, and develop solutions to complex problems, and convey complex technical information to stakeholders.

  • Proficient in statistical analysis, simulation modelling, and relevant software tools, such as CAD software, process mapping software, and Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to identify root causes of inefficiencies and develop practical, innovative solutions.

  • Possess knowledge of methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to eliminate waste and improve process efficiencies.

  • Proficiency in data visualization and performance monitoring tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent, to track key performance indicators, monitor process health, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Integrate AI-driven insights with operational systems to proactively identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidate must possess:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering

  • Three (3) years design experience in manufacturing environment preferred. Co-op experience as a college student applicable.
