Material Handler

SUMMARY

Organized material handler responsible for receiving and storing steel and purchased products, setting up job orders, and tracking product movement through barcode and KanBan systems. Knowledgeable in inventory software and equipped to safely operate Hilos, overhead hoists, and cranes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Receive steel and purchased products and place them in the appropriate storage area.
  • Set up job orders for shop floor processing, including gathering parts necessary to complete each order.
  • Record all product movement using the barcode system.
  • Use the KanBan system to identify parts required on the production floor.
  • Operate Hilos, overhead hoists, and cranes to move material as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Knowledgeable in inventory software systems and inventory movement processes.
  • Familiar with barcode and KanBan systems for tracking and organizing material.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to drive and operate Hilos, overhead hoists, and cranes.
